"Love Letter" Virus Enters Chinese Computer Networks

The software virus named "I LOVE YOU" which crippled computer networks around the world Thursday hit more than 100 computers in China, "China Youth Daily" reports Sunday.

Beijing-based Ruixing Computer Company received reports of computer paralisation from domestic PC users just in hours of the spread of the virus infection. Computer engineers of the company cleaned out the virus in 40 minutes.

Anti-virus expert Liu Xu said there was no large-scale outbreak of computer shutdown in China as a result of a week-long May 1 International Labor Day holiday vacation.

Liu advised PC users of necessary precautions to protect themselves against potential virus attacks when holiday-goers return to work.
