Wu Urges Greater Care for Chinese Adolescents

A senior Chinese leader called on retired officials to take heed of the needs of adolescents, which is key to the fate of the nation. Wu Yi, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said at a conference in Beijing that retired officials should teach young boys and girls to have a correct world outlook and study science and technology.

Wu, who is also a state councilor, urged retired officials to popularize Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, and Deng Xiaoping Theory so that adolescents will be immune to the influence of the rotten thoughts of capitalism.

The conference was held to honor 774 retired officials who are devoting themselves to the training and education of the young.
