Chang'an Avenue to Extend to 100 Li
The Chang'an Avenue will be lengthened again, stretching from Tongzhou District in the east part of Beijing to the Shougang (Capital Steel) Group Co. in west Beijing's Shijingshan District. The total length will reach 45 kilometers (90 li) by the end of this year. The avenue, after reconstructed, will get a new name of "Bai Li Chang Jie" (One Hundred Li Long Avenue).
The avenue will be flanked by lawns covering an area of over 50 hectares.
It is reported that initial results will be achieved before the National Day this year and the whole project will be completed around the end of this year.
