Beijing Develops Eastern Int'l Business District

A 2,700-sq-m investment service hall was opened on May 18 in Jingguang Tower, east Beijing's Chaoyang District, marking a big step forward for the district in becoming an international business attraction.

Occupying 46.7 percent of Beijing's planned urban area, Chaoyang is now the location for nearly all foreign embassies in China and the majority of Beijing's top hotels and office buildings.

It is also the location for three fifths of Beijing's foreign businesses and 90 percent of foreign media offices.

"With good facilities and services, an international business district has initially taken shape in Chaoyang," said Qiu Shuiping, vice director of Chaoyang.

According to Qiu, an international business fair will be held in Chaoyang on August 15 this year.
