Handicapped Orphans Get Help On-line

A new website has posted photographs of some 130 handicapped orphans in Shenyang, northeast China's Liaoning Province, seeking financial assistance from the public.

At web address www.1001N.com.cn, net browsers can learn about the physical condition of any of the disabled children on the site, get information on donations, and track the progress of any children they sponsor.

Donors also can arrange to visit the children through the website, launched May 29.

A similar website, www.aixin.com.cn, was opened in Dalian, a port city also in the province, on December 3 last year by Sun Shuiming, a local handicapped man.

The site was designed to inspire the disabled and to provide the surfers with information on Red Cross offices and volunteer societies for the disabled nationwide.
