CTS Increases Investment in North China

CTS of the United States decided to increase its investment in the CTS (Tianjin) Electronics Company Ltd. to a total US$92 million.

CTS, a producer of telecom terminal facilities and electronic parts, is to use the added capital to build a production project of accessory parts for Motorola, a giant in China in pagers and mobile phones, said managing staff with the CTS Tianjin branch.

The project will occupy an area of more than 70,000 square meters, and is to come into running in March 2001.

Li Shenglin, Tianjin Mayor, said CTS features strong technological backup and marketing force. He wished to continue the cooperation with CTS during a meeting with the CTS delegation led by the CEO on June 5.

CTS Tianjin branch was set up in the Tianjin Economic Development Area in north China two years ago with initial input of US$29.9 million.
