Ten graduates from the nation's top universities received the Matsushita Scholarship today. They will pursue graduate studies in Japan next year.

At the awarding ceremony, Song Jian, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the China-Japan Friendship Association, encouraged the students to treasure their opportunity and to study hard.

The Matsushita Scholarship, set up by the Japan-based Matsushita Industrial Co., Ltd. in 1998, sponsors students from China and southeast Asian nations for further study in Japan.
