NPC Vice-Chairman Meets Philippine Guests
Cheng Siwei, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met Wednesday with a delegation from the House of Representatives of the Philippines.
The delegation is led by Bellaflor J. Angara Castillo, senior deputy majority leader of the House.
Cheng said that the NPC and the Philippine House of Representatives have maintained good relations of cooperation.
The delegation's current visit will enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries and their peoples and the healthy development of bilateral ties, he said.
Cheng briefed the guests on China's political and economic situation since it began reforms and opening up and the NPC system.
The visitors are here at the invitation of the Chinese Association for International Understanding.
