China Beat Mexico 3-0 in Gold Cup

China romped into the semifinals of the Gold Cup women's soccer tournament as the world and Olympic runners-up beat Mexico 3-0 in Louisville.

The lone first-half tally came in the 26th minute, when Jin Yan headed the ball past Mexico goalie Linnia Quinones.

In the second half, Pan Lina scored on a rebound in the 86th minute for a 2-0 lead. Mexico allowed an own goal less than two minutes later.

In the other game, Christine Sinclair had three goals and three assists as Canada earned another shot at the United States with a 12-0 victory over Guatemala.

The semifinals will be played in Louisville on Saturday. China will take on Brazil in the first game, while Canada will play the United States for the third time this year.
