China Establishes Tourism Information Forecast System

He Guangwei, Chairman of National Tourism Administration said today that the opening of tourism forecast system at the three levels of state, province, and city will provide the people out for tours on Oct. 1 with reference information in this September.

He Guangwei revealed this news at the national forum attended by directors of tourism held here today. He said that this move is aimed at strengthening the management of and guidance for holiday economy.

Since the State Council made the decision to increase holidays last year, holiday economy has been burgeoning. Last May saw the first boom in tourism industry with the tourists hitting 46 million people. The concentrated travel makes a group of scenic spots ridden extremely with crowds of people.

He Guangwei said that the tourism information system co-established with State Statistical Bureau will make forecast on tourists number, the reception capacity of scenic spots or zones before holidays and trace and investigate relative information during holiday period.

Some tourist cities will also begin to set up " holiday tourism information center" to provide tourists with the latest information on boarding, lodging and reception in scenic spots and zones. In addition, notice boards will be erected in every tourist spot to make known the latest number, flow and distribution of tourists.
