Procurators to Compete for Vacant Posts

The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) has decided to select candidates for high positions in the SPP through competition.

A SPP spokesman said there are 18 vacant posts at bureau- director level and 130 at section-chief level in the SPP. The vacancies are open to procurators in the SPP itself, and those from procuratorates in Beijing as well.

Candidates are expected to register for the competition or be recommended by other people, make speeches and oral defenses, and be subject to assessment by the masses and examination by the superior department.

It was reported earlier that China will organize national examinations to select procurators, in a bid to improve the competence of procurators.

According to the SPP, there are about 7,200 vacancies of procurators across the country, which will be filled with those who pass the national exams.
