Fu, also a member of the Central Military Commission, added that the reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration of all Chinese people, including the Taiwan compatriots. On state relations, Fu said that China and Indonesia have enjoyed long-term friendship. Both sides are working for long-term, stable, good-neighborly relationship that covers all forms of cooperation, which is a goal set by Chinese President Jiang Zemin and his Indonesian counterpart Abdurrahman Wahid last year during his visit to China, Fu said. He said that Chinese and Indonesian military relations have developed smoothly, and the Chinese army is ready to develop multi- level friendly cooperation with the Indonesian armed forces in all areas. Achmad said that the Indonesian government has attached great importance to developing the friendly relations with China, and Indonesia's navy will strengthen the cooperation with the Chinese navy.
