Preparation for Construction of Third Bridge over Yangtze River Begins

Soon after the completion of the second bridge over the Yangtze River in Nanjing, preparations for another key infrastructure construction-the third bridge - over the river has begun. Recently, the Nanjing municipal government has been reviewing the feasibility study of the project.

The proposed third bridge is one of the bridges across the Yangtze River outlined in the "Five Bridges, One Tunnel" plan approved by the central government. As main part of Shanghai-Chengdu expressway, it will directly link the Shanghai-Nanjing and Nanjing-Hefei expressways.

Construction of the third bridge is of great significance in improving the freeway network on the state and provincial level and strengthening the economic ties between Nanjing, Shanghai and the middle and western regions of China.
