France Beats China in Volleyball Warm-up Match

France defeated China 3-2 in a warm- up match in Castelnau-le-Lez, France, Friday night as the two teams prepared for the upcoming men's volleyball Olympic qualifying tournament.

The Frenchmen, who are in different pool of the tournament as the Chinese, beat the visitors 25-18, 22-25, 18-25, 25-20 and 15-9.

France, drawn into the same group with Canada, Chinese Taipei and the Netherlands, will compete in Castelnau-le-Lez from July 25- 27. China will travel to Athens, Greece where they will meet Greece, Spain and Tunisia in another pool from July 24.

Argentina, Japan, Venezuela and Portugal began their competition in the third pool on Friday in Matosinhos, Portugal, with Argentina beating Japan and Venezuela crushing host Portugal on the opening day.

Winner of each pool will qualify for the Sydney Olympic Games.
