East China Province Seeks Ties with CIS in Science, Technology

East China's Shandong Province will strengthen co-operation with Russia, Belarussia and Ukraine in science and technology.

The three members of the Commonwealth of Independent States ( CIS) have agreed to help the province launch 196 high-tech projects dealing in electronic information, electromechanical integration, bio-engineering, new materials, new energy and aerospace technology.

In return, Shandong will also offer 130 projects to the three countries.

A Shandong delegation recently visited the three countries and signed agreements, letters of intent and MOU in scientific and technological cooperation.

A Shandong government official said the province will introduce a number of high-tech personnel from the three countries.
