Chinese globetrotting bicyclist Li Yuezhong left Luanda on Wednesday for Brazil, ending his 25-state journey in the African continent and continuing his heroic feat in Latin America.

As part of his round-the-world tour, which had covered 26 European and several Middle-East countries, Li, alone, visited 25 African countries in one and a half years, with Angola as the 55th stop of his ambitious journey.

Li Yuezhong, 44, a native of Tangshan, in Chinese Hebei Province, began his round-the-world journey. According to him, "I managed the restaurant only for raising funds for realizing my dream of traveling around the world."

From March of 1997 to January of 1999, Li bicycled cross 26 European countries, three Asian countries and Egypt.

On January 16, 1999, Chen left Spain for Morocco, through the Gibraltar strait, starting his one-year-and a-half journey in the African continent.

As for his future journey, Li said that it will continue to be fantastic. According to his plan, Li will spend one year or so in the Latin America, where he will visit Cape Forward, the southernmost point of the South American continent.

After visiting Carribean countries and the North Ameican continent, Li is going to return to his motherland China. Li said he set China as the terminal of his round-the-world trip because he misses and loves his hometown.

In the African continent, Li visited Morocco, West Sahara, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, DR Congo, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia and Angola.
