Chinese Talent Helps Develop Western Region

Chinese scholars and experts are playing a major role in helping promote economic development in China's vast western regions.

Five doctors from Tianjin University of Industry will give seven special lectures on marketing, development and cultivation of market and modern management of enterprises in Aksu prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Local people have asked the five doctors to give more lectures on a broader range of topics, said Zhang Yuzhong, head of the mission.

Local officials said that Aksu plans to set up a cooperation with Tianjin University of Industry, hoping to attract more talented people to participate in local development.

China has over the past weeks sent out 179 mission groups made up of 2,000 doctors to make study tours of Xinjiang, Tibet and all other areas in the country's vast west region.
