China Develops Anti-Radiation Garment

Chinese scientists have developed a new garment which is able to prevent human body from ultraviolet and electromagnetic waves radiation.

The garment was made from a kind of fiber interwoven with anti- radiation material, said Yang Jianzhong, a scientist at the Xi'an New and High-tech Development Zone in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The anti-radiation material is dissolved in fiber. It is capable of resisting 95 percent of ultraviolet and electromagnetic waves, and will not irritate the skin. The material can be used for making shirts, skirts and T-shirts.

However, China's research on nano technology is still in its embryonic stage, Yang said.
