Bank Joins Hands with Insurance Firm

China Everbright Group and China Pacific Insurance Co., Ltd. (CPIC) signed a cooperative contract Monday in Beijing.

The two companies will cooperate in financing, mutual share holding and industrial investment.

Everbright chairman Wang Mingquan and CPIC general manager Wang Guoliang said the contract between the two groups is important as China braces itself for the challenges of becoming World Trade Organization member.

The contract will benefit the Shanghai-based CIPC, speed up the settling of its accounts and expand its business with the help of insurance agencies from Everbright banks.

Everbright Group is a multinational company, which covers a wide range of businesses including banking, stock exchanges, insurance, fund management, real estate development and infrastructure projects.
