The Chinese Track and Field Association publicly announced the list of athletes that will represent China in the Olympic track and field events recently. The list includes seven runners from the Liaoning women's medium and long distance running team. Among them, Dong Yanmei, Song Liqing and Yi Lili are strong in the women's 5000 meters. Li Jingnan, Lan Lixin and Liji are good at the women's 1500 meters, and Dong Yanmei and Dai Yanyan have a shot at winning the women's 10,000 meters.

Ma Junren is not only the head coach of the Liaoning women's medium and long distance running team, but also one of the coaches for the Chinese medium and long distance running Olympic team. Ma Junren likes bringing his runners to train at the Duoba plateau, 27 kilometers away from Xining, provincial capital of Qinghai. He always takes his team to train at the high altitude base before every important competition. This time they will stay there for one month.
