He Leaves for IOC Meeting on Cutting Down 2008 Bidders

He Zhenliang, an executive board member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), left on Sunday for the IOC conference on reducing the number of bidders for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Lausanne on Monday and Tuesday.

Those left in the race will Tuesday be promoted from bidders to "official candidates" and can all hope to win the world sports climax at the IOC Session vote July 2001 in Moscow.

The 10 bidders are Bangkok, Beijing, Cairo, Havana, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Paris, Seville and Toronto.
