China, Pakistan Vow to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
President Jiang Zemin met with Pakistani Chief Executive Officer Pervez Musharaf on Saturday morning, and the two sides are determined to further their bilateral friendship and cooperation.

President Jiang said China and Pakistan are both developing countries, and that the two countries share common views on many international issues and have made good cooperation in all fields.

During the meeting, President Jiang said he is grateful to Pakistan for its support for China in the international affairs and its adherence to one China policy.

In return, Musharaf thanked Jiang for his friendship with Pakistan, saying that his country will continue to develop still closer cooperation with China.

Musharaf invited President Jiang to pay an official visit to Pakistan, and Jiang accepted the invitation with pleasure.

Jiang and Musharaf arrived in New York to attend the Millennium Summit, which ended Friday at the U.N. headquarters.
