CNOOC to List in HK and US Next Year

Fu Chengyu, vice-president of the China National Offshore Oil Co., recently indicated that his company would list in the stock markets of Hong Kong and the United States next January.

It's reported that in the listing, consideration will be given to the introduction of overseas tactical investors, this is aimed not only at raising fund, but also mainly at absorbing specialized technology and international market experiences.

He said that the failure of listing in Hong Kong and the United States last January was mainly due to the then investment environment unfavorable to Chinese oil company, furthermore, most overseas investors had a low confidence in the reorganization and restructuring of Chinese State-owned enterprises.

He also disclosed that over 40 enterprises had shown interest in bidding for the Guangdong liquefied natural gas project under the China National Offshore Oil Company, it is estimated that the result will come out in two to three months.
