Wood Carving In Relief Debuts in Zhuhai

A special wood carving in relief has made its debut in Zhuhai, surprising the audience with its quaintness and powerfulness.

The relief is composed of 738 wooden slips on which Master Sun's Art of War has been inscribed. Each slip is 63-centimeters-long and about seven-centimeters-wide.

It took Chinese calligraphist, Li Kongping, four years to complete the relief, which made it into the Guinness Book of Records last year.

Li Kongping says a friend's photo of calligraphy in relief inspired him to inscribe the ancient classic on the wooden slips.

The work's estimated to be worth seven and a half million yuan.
