Films to Profile Artists
The Ministry of Culture is to make documentaries about famous Chinese painters and calligraphers for the conservation and development of Chinese art. The documentary films will cover both personal profiles and major events in the art circle.
The ministry, along with the China Audio and Video Exchange Society, established an organization to take charge of the film making on Saturday in Beijing. The organization will invite artists to appraise the professional quality of the work of nominated artists for the films and will manage the nomination, editing, examination, broadcasting and release of the documentaries, ministry sources said.
