Shanghai Issues China's First Credit-Telecom Card

A credit-telecom card, whose holder can get both financial and telecommunication services, was created in Shanghai, China's largest industrial and commercial city.

The card was jointly issued by the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and the Shanghai Telecom.

Sources with the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank said that while it still can be used as a traditional credit card, the new card can also be used to make international calls, get on the Internet or be used as an ID card, a medicare voucher or just a food ticket in a company cafeteria.
