Shanghai: Supermarket On-line

Shanghai residents can shop from home by logging into www.lhok.com or dialing 96801.

Lianhua Supermarket, began providing home delivery services Monday through the aforementioned Website and telephone hotline.

The on-line supermarket will provide over 1,000 basic necessities, and the number is expected to expand to more than 3,000 by the end of the year.

Customers may use "customer cards", an electronic card similar to credit cards issued by the Supermarket, to settle their accounts.

As the biggest and most profit-making supermarket chain on the mainland, Lianhua attracts some 300,000 customers per day and its total business volume is expected to reach 10 billion yuan (US$1.2 billion)this year.
