HKEx Introduces Online Share Brokerage System

The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced here Monday that an Internet service will be introduced to enable investor participants online access to the Central Clearing and Settlement System (CCASS).

The Internet service, serves as an alternative to access through the CCASS phone system, will be launched in two phases, beginning on October 3.

During Phase One, investor participants will be able to use the Internet access to affirm investor settlement instructions, check details and apply for shares through HKEx's electronic initial public offering service.

Online activities available during Phase Two, scheduled to begin before year-end, will include viewing and downloading account statements and giving dividend election and voting instructions.
