Semiconductor Photoelectric Industrial Park Set up in Ningbo

The International Semiconductor Photoelectric and Technological Industrial Park opened on Wednesday at the Ningbo Free Trade Zone in east China's Zhejiang Province.

Located in the port city of Ningbo, the park is the first of its kind in the country's 15 free trade zones, has absorbed domestic and overseas investment totaling 106 million U.S. dollars.

Hong Jiaxiang, deputy director of the Ningbo Free Trade Zone Administration, said the zone has established professional data in cooperation with Beijing University and Zhejiang University in a bid to promote the research and development capacity within the park.

It also conducts technological cooperation with the Institute of Semiconductor under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and similar research organizations in Silicon Valley of the United States.
