China Welcomes Progress in DPRK-US Relations: FM Spokesman

China welcomes any progress in the relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhu Bangzao said Thursday.

Zhu said during a regular press conference that China has always worked to maintain the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, and China has made it clear that it always welcomes and supports any move in this regard.

China, therefore, welcomes the recent progress in DPRK-US relations, and hopes that other countries improve their relations with the DPRK. China also hopes that such improvements in DPRK-US relations will continue and lead to the final normalization of relations between the DPRK and the United States as well as other countries across the world, he said.
