Sichuan Welcomes Heads of World Renowned Company

Communist Party chief and governor of Sichuan Province, southeast China, met Friday with heads from over 20 foreign companies including Shell, Motorola, and Compaq, who are in Chengdu for the Western Forum of China.

Zhou Yongkang, provincial committee secretary of the Communist Party of China, expressed his welcome and wished that the gathering of these company heads will bring development opportunities to China's western areas.

Representatives from Motorola said their trip to western China has strengthened their confidence in investing in western China.

The Western Forum of China is a major effort made by the Chinese government on developing western China, which has attracted attention of overseas enterprises.
