AsiaInfo Won CMNet Internet Backbone Bid

AsiaInfo Holdings. Inc. has signed a contract with China Mobile to act as general contractor for systems integration and sole provider of management and application software of CMNet Internet backbone first-phase project.

CMNet is the fifth among China's five Internet backbone networks all built by AsiaInfo. AsiaInfo has by making most of advantages of China Mobile's business designed a whole set of business solution, providing Chinese mobile phone users with services as VOIP, WAP and GPRS accession and laying foundation for third-generation mobile system development. It is reported CMNet's mirror sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou will have unified domain names. Meanwhile, a large-capacity information platform for individual E-mail system will be set up.

AsiaInfo will also provide a comprehensive business management system AIOBS, helping China Mobile establish integrated service as described in "One client, one contract, one bill" and "Many functions for one card", so as to making it a full-ranged service provider in a telecom age.
