Intel and Beijing Telecom to Jointly Provide Web Hosting Service

China Telecom Group Beijing Corporation (Beijing Telecom) and Intel Corporation Tuesday signed an agreement to jointly provide world-class Web hosting services in China.

According to the agreement, Intel will provide technical services and support to Beijing Telecom's business of hosing websites but not interfere in the daily operation and management of Beijing Telecom.

With the rapid development of Internet in China, more and more Internet content providers and Internet service providers want to have their servers maintained by specialists. Since Beijing Telecom opened the business of hosting websites in 1996, more than 300 companies have put their some 4,000 servers in the data center in the Beijing Telecom.

An Internet expert noted that today's cooperation will help Beijing Telecom improve their service and will also help Intel expand their market share in China.
