General Motors and Shanghai Jiaotong University Sunday signed an agreement, deciding to set up a satellite laboratory on the campus as the big-name vehicle maker's first China research institute specialized in car body production technology.

Under the agreement, the laboratory will work to upgrade car body production technology at GM joint ventures in China.

As world's largest vehicle producer, GM said it is devoted to introducing the most advanced technology into China through establishing close cooperative relationship with China.
