US InfoSecurity Company to Set Up New Office in China

RSA Security Inc. a major international security software and consulting company, announced Thursday that it will set up a new office in Shanghai in the first quarter of next year.

Cabriel Lau, an official from the company, noted that the company has recorded a rapid development in China since it set up its first Chinese office in Beijing last February. Statistics for the company show that this year, the business volume has increased 100 percent on a yearly basis.

To develop the Chinese market, the company also plans to open a factory in Sichuan in the second quarter of 2001, to produce Internet security products.

Lau predicts that the company's business volume will register a 50 percent increase in 2001. He added that China is a very important market for Internet security, as the country is developing so swiftly.

The US-based RSA registered an income of more than two billion US dollars last year.
