The flight SQ232, from Sydney to Singapore, developed a generator fault three hours into the flight, the statement said. "As a precautionary measure, the captain turned back and landed the plane in Brisbane for a mechanical inspection," the statement said. The plane departed Brisbane at 2.11 a.m. (local time) after work was carried out on the Boeing 777-300 series. The incident came a day after a passenger jet of the airline crashed on take-off at Taipei international airport, killing 79 passengers, the AAP said. |
