CCB's Deposits Exceeds 2 Trillion Yuan

The China Construction Bank (CCB) announced Saturday that by October 25, the outstanding amount of its deposits breaks the two trillion yuan mark to reach 2.0978 trillion yuan, an increase of 261.88 billion yuan or 14.26 percent over the beginning of the year.

A spokesman for the CCB said that the bank has been implementing a new marketing strategy through adopting a range of new operating measures since the beginning of this year, establishing a liaison system for key enterprises and key clients to promote the growth of deposits.

The efforts in this respect are especially effective in attracting deposits from industrial enterprises and the real estate sector, thanks to the recovering of these industries over the past months. By the end of September, deposits from these industries rose up to 24 billion yuan, accounting for 21.66 percent of the newly increased corporate deposits in the bank.

The CCB also actively promoted the construction of corporate settlement networks, resulting in consolidating relationship with key clients and increasing amount of capital settlement. So far 31

sales settlement networks have been set up for key clients.

CCB branches in major cities also played a great role in the bank's deposit growth. By the end of September, the outstanding amount of deposits in 36 major branches had totaled 969.56 billion yuan, accounting for 46.22 percent for the bank's total deposits.

Meanwhile, the bank's savings deposits also increased by a big margin to reach 871.89 billion yuan.
