Qingdao Becomes Household Electric Appliance Center

More and more multi-national companies are flocking to Qingdao, a port city in east China's Shandong Province, with advanced technology for cooperation with major local household electric appliance manufacturers.

Such multi-national companies will have opened 100 representative offices in Qingdao by the end of this year.

The Mitsubishi Company of Japan now provides for local manufacturers parts and accessories for air conditioners, computers and telephone sets, to the tune of two million US dollars annually.

With imported technology and equipment, Haier and Hisense, the best-known leading local manufacturers of domestic electric appliances, have expanded production by leaps and bounds. The turnover of the Haire Company is expected to exceed 30 billion yuan this year, and that of the Hisense Company, 15 billion yuan.
