Guatemala Rules out Radical Changes in Relations with US

There will be no radical changes in relations between Guatemala and the United States no matter who wins the US presidency��said Guatemalan President Alfonso Portillo Cabrera Thursday.

Though on several occasions he could not meet his US counterpart Bill Clinton for some reasons, he does not think the next US president will change bilateral relations with Guatemala��Portillo was quoted by a report from that Central American country as saying.

The relations between the US and the rest of Latin-American countries will have no big changes either, Portillo predicted.

The world's eyes are placed on the development of the electoral process taking place in the United States. Right now, there has been no new president yet since the election was held on November 7.
