Chinese Women Chess Players Again Seized Olympic Title

In the 34th International Chess Olympiad closed in Istanbul, Chinese Women's team fought a 3-to-3 tie with Hungarian counterpart in the last round of contest, again won since after 1998 chess Olympiad the current Olympic title with an aggregate 32 marks after 14 rounds, leaving 85 others behind.

The runner-up and third place went to Georgian and Russian women's teams respectively.

The Russian men's team won the men's group title. Chinese men's team beat Greece 2.5 : 1.5, taking the 8th place.

As scheduled, another new Chess Olympiad will be held in Slovenia 2002.
