First Snowfall Turns Shenyang into Silvery World

Shenyang, the largest industrial city in northeast China, is coated with the first snowfall of this winter early Sunday morning.

The snowfall started Saturday night and continued to Sunday noon. The roads are icy since the maximum temperature was zero degree centigrade.

The Taoxian International Airport at this capital city of Liaoning Province has been operating normally. No flights were affected by press time. While no trains have been delayed.

Highways were affected though. Drivers were required to drive at a speed below 60 kilometers per hour.

The first snowfall of the season did not prevent people from going out. Some just strolled for sightseeing. Zhongjie Street, the biggest walking street in the city, was crowded with people at noon time.
