Five Abducted Hindus Shot Dead in Kashmir

Militants of Lakshar-e Toiba Friday shot dead five of the six Hindus after abducting them from Kishtwar area of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

According to the Press Trust of India, the six Hindus were abducted from Tali Mohalla area in Kishtwar town by a group of ten militants Friday evening.

Some of the victims were pulled out of a bus and the others were waiting at the bus stop. The six Hindus were separated from the Muslim passengers. They were later taken to a forest in Kishtwar where five of them were shot dead while one managed to escape, the sources said.

The militants escaped from the spot leaving the bodies in a pool of blood. Police recovered the bodies from the forest.

Security forces have launched an operation to track down the militants responsible for the killings.
