Reorganization Leads to Separation of 800,000 People, 90.5 Bn Yuan Assets from MOR

Following the separation of railway universities from railway departments, five large companies under the Ministry of Railways (MOR), which have a staff of 800,000 employees, were changed to belong to the central enterprise working committee and to engage in independent management. At the same time, news reports say that the dissociation of these five big enterprises will involve 90.5 billion yuan worth of assets.

Their detachment from the Ministry of Railways will mean their loss of the source of fixed asset investment and the loss of special policy protection; it also means their obtainment of a good opportunity for self-development.
