BOC Issues First VISA Platinum Card in China

The Bank of China (BOC) issued December 12 its first Great Wall VISA Platinum Card in Beijing. This is a new follow-up product of BOC since its issuance of "Great Wall International", Common and Gold Cards.

According to BOC, the Platinum Card has been issued to satisfy market demand and enrich the variety of cards. It is reported that BOC has issued over 25 million Great Wall cards since issuance of its first credit card in 1985.

Currently, about 200,000 Platinum Card users are enjoying thoughtful services in the Asian-Pacific region. The VISA international organization, which goes into cooperation with BOC, and run with a global consuming payment system, has close cooperative ties developed with 21,000 member financial institutions throughout the world.
