China's Science and Technology Data Bank Online
As of Tuesday, scientists and technicians can access data or reference materials needed for academic papers via the online national science and technology data bank.
The system also offers the original English or Chinese articles from foreign or Chinese journals.
The data bank boasts 1.7 million items, which are divided into four categories including science, engineering, agriculture and medicine.
The on-line library was built up over two years of joint efforts by eight institutions, including the libraries of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science, Chinese Academy of Medical Science.
Science news column and online academic symposiums will be added to the system in the near future.
