China to Make Public Stamp Circulation in Advance

According to sources from the State Post Bureau, China will make public in advance the circulation of commemorative stamps beginning from this year's first new set of stamps.

The State Post Bureau has set about to reform publication way of stamp circulation since the beginning of 2000. And the State Post department adjusted the method of publishing postage, envelope and postcard circulation at the end of April 2000.

The publication way of commemorative stamp circulation may hinder the growth of postal departments' ability to serve society and hamper the development of the philately market. The delayed publication of stamp circulation will incur lagging social response to the circulation reduction measures of the State Post Bureau, and will cause a big circulation gap between the anticipation of stamp collectors and the actual amount of distribution. To end this situation, it is imperative to reform the current delayed publication way of stamp circulation.

In addition, it is reported that China will issue less commemorative stamps this year.
