Legend Backs Beijing's Olympic Bid

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee (BOBICO) January 11 received a donation of RMB12 million yuan (about US$1.5m) from Legend Group, one of the largest computer manufacturers in China. The donation is recognized as the largest sum of money BOBICO has received so far in backing Beijing's 2008 Olympic bid.

At the donation ceremony, BOBICO granted Legend Group the title of "cooperative partnership" and admitted it into BOBICO 's Supporting League.

Liu Jingmin, executive vice president of BOBICO, also vice mayor of Beijing, highly praised Legend Group for its monetary support in backing up Beijing's 2008 Olympic Bid. He said that Beijing's 2008 Olympic bid is of far-reaching significance for a raise of national quality, pushing forward the Chinese economy and spread of China's influence in the world. The Legend Group has set a good example for domestic enterprises to take part in efforts to further the common interest of the Chinese nation. He also expressed the hope that more and more hi-tech enterprises will do every possible bit in supporting Beijing's bid for hosting the 2008 Olympic Games.
