China National Women's Soccer Team Again Beat U.S.


Chinese Women Soccer Team Won the Second Match
China National Women's Soccer Team again beat the US 4-3 in the second round held at theHangzhou Huanglong Sports Center January 14.

In the fifteenth minute, 11-Jennifer Lalor of the US scored the first goal at the top of the penalty box. Five minutes later, China came up with a free kick in the front court. 23-Fan Yunjie, heading the ball into the far corner of the gate after bypassing a defender of the US, gave a 1-1 tie in the first half.

In the second half, China made several furious attacks, though, the defender and goalkeeper of the rival had given a spectacular performance. There was no goal scored until the penalties came up at the end of the second half.

17-Shi Mengyu and 7-Zhang Ouying failed to live up to the expectation of two penalties. However, Han Wenxia, the goalkeeper, headed off two attempts of scoring and pushed the game for a draw. Later, US lost the last penalty and 3-Li Jie of China ended the game with 4-3.
