Beijing to Host Activity to Attract Talents

A two-week activity will be hosted in Beijing, starting February 13, to attract talents, an official with the city's personnel bureau announced at a press conference Thursday, February 8.

Called the "Capital Economy and Talent," the activity will include a talent market at the China International Exhibition Center, a television forum on economy and talent in the 21st century, a seminar on human resources and talent exchange programs via Internet.

The talent market, which covers an area of 35,000 square meters, will attract more than 2,000 enterprises and organizations, including 200 foreign companies.

It is expected that over 100,000 job hunters will attend the market, the official said.

Statistics show that Beijing has 1.8 million professionals of diversified specialities. Last year, the city introduced 12,400 professionals, including 4,000 with masters or doctorate degrees.

The activity will be jointly sponsored by the city's talent service center and Beijing Foreign Enterprises Service Company.
