Suzhou to Host APEC Financial Ministers MeetingThe 8th Financial Minister Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is to be held in Suzhou in east China's Jiangsu Province coming September. Presently preparations have been under way.Xiang Huaicheng, Chinese Financial Minister, lately gave his nod to all related work arrangements at a meeting of the preparatory committee held in Suzhou, noting that service and reception should combine international practice with Chinese characteristics and the unique features of the locality. It is reported that all preparatory work with regard to International Exhibition Center, the City Conference Center and others concerned have all been started since the end of last year. Innovation construction projects including broadband ports and simultaneous interpretation system in major meeting halls have been carried out. Other work items relating to personnel training, decking out conference halls, organization work of service staff, security, logistics, medical treatment, etc. have all also been under full swing The 4th APEC Technology Exhibition and Exposition with an attendance of more than 20 delegations from abroad will be held in time in Suzhou.
